Governor Granholm and Superintendent Flanagan At The 2009 Conference !!

The Network, members of the Education Alliance, and other educational leaders listened as the Governor focused on the Race to the Top and Mike Flanagan expanded on the Governor's remarks.  He also pointed out that the Network was the most important grass roots organization to the department and asked, as did the Governor, for ongoing NME support for their work.

Governor Granholm and Superintendent Flanagan Speak To The 2009 Annual Conference and Recognition Banquet !!
The Annual conference was much enhanced by the appearance of these two educational leaders.

The Network was joined by the members of the Education Alliance and other educational leaders invited by the Governor's office.  The Governor focused on the Race to the Top and the necessary legislation to qualify Michigan to even apply.  Mike Flanagan followed the Governor's remarks with more detail about the Race to the Top and other issues around this effort.  He praised his staff for their outstanding above and beyond efforts to win this race.  He also pointed out to all in attendance that the Network was the most important grass roots organization to the department and asked, as did the Governor, for ongoing NME support for their work.  Watch for more details and pictures in days to come
